🪙 Supported Stablecoins & Chains

Bakkt supports multiple stablecoins across 10 blockchain networks. Use GET /stablecoin/supported/chains to confirm current support in your environment.

* Celo is production-only. It is not supported in Sandbox at the moment, so cUSD and cEUR flows cannot be tested end-to-end there. GET /stablecoin/supported/chains returns celo in both environments, so this gap is not visible from the API — see Sandbox Setup → Celo.

Payment rails

Payment rail availability

Availability depends on verified residency, currency, and access to the relevant payment rail. Use the table below as a product summary, and rely on the API plus Onboarding for live eligibility and KYC / KYB status.

Supported fiat currencies

Empty cells mean the currency is not supported for that flow and user type. Currencies marked coming soon are not available in sandbox or production until launched.

Note: UGX (Ugandan Shilling), TZS (Tanzanian Shilling), XOF (West African CFA Franc), and ZAR (South African Rand) are currently not supported, but support will be enabled in future releases.

Important rules

• Residency is based on proof of address, not nationality.
• Users must have access to the relevant payment rails (for example, SEPA for EUR).
• Some jurisdictions are restricted and not supported.
• Third-party bank accounts are supported for EUR and GBP.
• Third-party bank accounts are not enabled by default (fraud risk; limited to trusted users). See Off-ramp for recipient_type and third_party_details.

Examples

• US user -> can off-ramp USD or JPY, but not EUR or GBP.
• French user -> can on- and off-ramp EUR and GBP, but not USD.
• Non-US user -> cannot access USD rails.

🌍 Regions of User Residency (KYC/KYB Supported)

Bakkt supports KYC/KYB verification for individuals and corporate entities residing in the following jurisdictions. This table indicates whether individuals, corporate entities, or both are supported for each jurisdiction.

Payment Methods

The table below groups common payment methods by currency.

CAD (Canadian Dollar)

CAD payouts are available to Canada (CA). Interac e-Transfer is the only
transfer method generally available — EFT and Lynx are in preview.

• Interac e-Transfer (transfer_method: "INTERAC"): Payouts sent directly to the recipient's email address.

  • Required fields: transfer_method: "INTERAC", recipient_email (valid email format).
  • Note: The recipient must have Interac Autodeposit enabled for their email address.

• EFT (preview) (transfer_method: "EFT"): Standard Canadian Electronic Funds Transfer to domestic bank accounts.

  • Required fields: transfer_method: "EFT", account_number (7–12 digits), transit_code (5-digit Canadian bank routing transit code).

• Lynx (preview) (transfer_method: "LYNX"): Canadian high-value payment system (wire transfer).

  • Required fields: transfer_method: "LYNX", account_number, transit_code (5 digits), swift_code, bank_name, recipient_relationship, remittance_purpose.

Note: Preview transfer methods are still being rolled out and may change
or be unavailable in some environments. Use INTERAC for production
integrations until EFT and Lynx are announced as generally available.

XAF (Central African CFA Franc)

XAF is shared by several Central African countries, and coverage differs by
country rather than by currency:

Because several countries share XAF, the beneficiary country is required
and cannot be inferred from the currency. Supply CM, GA or CG.

• Mobile money is available in all three countries. Supply
  recipient_phone_number including the country dialling code (for example
  237651234567 for Cameroon).
• Bank transfers are available in Cameroon only; a bank account for
  Gabon or the Republic of the Congo is rejected. Cameroon account numbers are
  the 23-character RIB (5-digit bank code, 5-digit branch code, 11-digit
  account number and a 2-digit key), and swift_code is optional since many
  Central African banks do not publish one.

Warning: Important Considerations:

• Regional Availability: Not every method is available in every corridor or for every user profile. Confirm support with the API for the specific user and currency.
• Transaction Limits: Some payment methods may have associated transaction limits (minimums and maximums). See minimum transaction values.
• Mobile money operators: Use GET /stablecoin/supported/banks?currency=ZMW (or XAF / GHS / KES) for the live operator list.
